Richard Liu Qiangdong is a natural citizen of China and also uses the name, Liu Qiangdong. Richard Liu Qiangdong has built a thriving e-commerce venture known as J.D.com since its inception in 2004. The company name he says is formed from his wife’s first name and his part of his last name.

Richard Liu Qiangdong is considered a celebrity across China. His net worth is estimated to be around $5 billion. Richard Liu’s company is one of the top three e-commerce businesses in China. He is listed as the founder, chairman and President of J.D.com. Patrons place orders for consumer products online, and in China, delivery is accomplished through drones within an estimated eight hours. The time for delivery in China is a bit longer for rural towns compared to more urban areas. International deliveries are said to be accomplished within a two-week period. However, J.D.com has alliances with companies such as Walmart and Tencent.

During his college years, Richard Liu opened a restaurant that did not succeed. He attributes this to lack of scheduled time to properly manage its operations.
